             문재인 대통령 2018년 신년사 

사랑하는 국민 여러분

My dear fellow citizens,

새해가 밝았습니다. 

2018년 올해는 국민 여러분 한 분 한 분의 삶이 더 나아지고, 

가정에도 웃음이 넘치는 한 해가 되기를 기원합니다.

A new year has begun. May 2018 be a better year for each of you and for your family to smile.

지난해에는 여러 어려움이 있었지만 우리 모두 잘 이겨냈습니다.

We had a lot of difficulties last year, but we all got through it.

나라다운 나라를 만들기 위해 온 국민이 마음을 하나로 모았고,

 큰 걸음을 시작했습니다.

The people of this country have united in their thoughts and begun to take a big step.

경제도 앞으로 나아갔습니다. 무역 1조 달러 시대를 다시 열었고, 

3%대 경제 성장률을 회복했습니다. 

정치적 혼란과 북한의 잇따른 도발로 인한 안보위기 상황에서 만들어낸 

결실이어서 더욱 값지고 귀한 성취입니다.

The economy is moving forward. We're back in the era of one trillion dollars in trade, three percent economic growth. It is a valuable achievement that has been made in a time of national security crisis due to political chaos and North Korea's repeated provocations.

저는 국민 여러분이 자랑스럽습니다.

I am proud of you all.

대한민국 대통령으로서 국민 한 분 한 분께 깊은 존경과 감사의 인사를 드립니다.

Deep respect and I would like to express heartfelt gratitude to every one nation as president of the Republic of Korea.

2018년 새해, 국민의 손을 굳게 잡고 더 힘차게 전진하겠습니다.

In the new year 2018, we will move forward with a firm grip on the people's hands.

과거의 잘못을 바로잡기 위한 노력을 지속하면서 국민의 삶을 바꾸는 데 

모든 역량을 집중하겠습니다. 

국민의 삶의 질 개선을 최우선 국정목표로 삼아 

국민 여러분이 피부로 느낄 수 있는 변화를 만들겠습니다.

I will continue to make efforts to correct past mistakes and concentrate on changing the lives of the people. 

The most important goal of our government is to improve the people's quality of life, and thus we will make a change that you can feel with your skin.

공정하고 정의로운 대한민국을 만들라는 국민의 뜻을 더 굳게 받들겠습니다. 

나라를 나라답게 만드는 일이 국민 통합과 경제 성장의 더 큰 에너지가 될 것이라고 확신합니다.

I strongly support the people's will to create a fair and just Republic of Korea. 

I am confident that what makes the country a nation will be a greater energy for national unity and economic growth.

새해에는 노사정 대화를 비롯한 사회 각 부문의 대화가 꽃을 피우는 

한 해가 되기를 기대합니다.

 조금씩 양보하고, 짐을 나누면 더불어 잘사는 대한민국에

 한 걸음 더 가까이 갈 수 있을 것입니다.

I hope that this year will be a year of flowering for dialogue in all sectors of society, including dialogue between labor, management, and the government. Give up little by little and share your belongings so that you can get to the Republic of Korea, where you are good together, one step closer.

국민 여러분,

My fellow citizens,

이제 평창올림픽과 패럴림픽이 한 달여 앞으로 다가왔습니다. 

88서울올림픽 이후 30년 만에 치러지는 대회입니다. 

평창을 더 많이 사랑하고 응원해 주십시오.

 국민 여러분의 관심과 성원이 평창의 성공을 만들 것입니다.

Now the Pyeongchang Olympics and the Paralympics are about a month away. It is the first time in 30 years since the 88 Seoul Olympics.

 Please love and support Pyeongchang better.

 Your interest and support will make Pyeongchang a success.

새해 국민 여러분의 건강과 행복을 기원합니다. 감사합니다
